Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to an inclusive experience for all users.
Compliance Status
This website is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform — the exceptions are listed under Known Limitations below.
We assess accessibility ourselves using a combination of manual keyboard and screen-reader testing and automated checks. This statement is reviewed at least once a year and whenever we make a significant change to the site.
What We Do
- We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines across the site.
- Most pages are fully navigable by keyboard (see Known Limitations).
- We use semantic HTML and ARIA labels where appropriate.
- Text sizes, colours, and contrasts are designed to be legible in both light and dark modes.
- Our site is responsive and works across screen sizes and devices.
Known Limitations
We know the following parts of the site are not yet fully accessible, and we are working to fix them:
- Some educational diagrams do not yet have full text descriptions, so their detail may not be available to screen-reader users. We are adding descriptions topic by topic.
- Mathematical notation is rendered visually and may be read out awkwardly by some screen readers.
- Uploaded past-paper PDFs are produced by the exam boards and may not be tagged for accessibility. We cannot alter these documents; contact us if you need help with a specific paper.
- The interactive periodic table relies on pointer input and is difficult to use by keyboard alone.
Feedback and Reporting a Problem
If you find an accessibility problem, need content in a different format (for example large print, plain text or an audio description of a diagram), or have a suggestion, email us at info@achieve-academy.co.uk. Please tell us the page address and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to provide an alternative format within 10 working days.
If You Are Not Happy With Our Response
We treat accessibility complaints seriously and will always try to resolve them directly. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com, who provide free advice about your rights under the Equality Act 2010.
